Airbiscuit PVC2300 Windows Service Application

This program is designed to run as a Windows Service. The program reads the LinkSys PVC2300 / Cisco PVC2300 MJPEG stream and saves single .JPEG images. The JPEG image is then uploaded to a FTP site of your choosing.

I decided to write this program because the PVC2300 motion detection event is less than adequate at best and is useless at night, especially if you have the camera mounted in an enclosure or pointing at a bright source (e.g. outdoors, beach, clear sky).

Also the PVC2300 lacks the ability to automatically upload an image to a website at a set interval (e.g. upload image every 5 minutes regardless of event or trigger).

This program addresses the shortfalls of the PVC2300. I decided to publish it on the internet so that other people who have the PVC2300 may find it usefull.

The PVC2300 is a great IP Camera, it is full featured and comes in at a very competitve price compared with AXIS IP Cameras.

Note: I did contact Linksys/Cisco to request that they modify their firmware to enable automatic upload based on an interval, instead of motion detection event. So far, I have not heard anything from them about my suggestion, nor do I expect a response - when do large corporations ever listen to their customers?!? lol :)

For an example of what the camera can do / upload, please click the link below:

The example page uses ASP.Net code that simply searches for the latest file (jpeg image) from a specific directory (where your camera images get uploaded to) and then displays that file within the webpage.
